About the Founder

Boston’s Special Events Production Company…since 1998!

Dr. Kristen Porter founded Kristen Porter Presents Dyke Night® Productions in 1998 with a mission to “partner entertainment with philanthropy.” During this time, Dyke Night® has grown to become the largest and longest-lasting event production company targeting the women’s community in Boston’s history. Money raised through  events is donated to nonprofits, with a priority towards small organizations that lack paid development staff.

Her philanthropic personal philosophy is rooted in her dedication to supporting our community. She devoted 20 years of service to Boston’s nonprofit community, which included 16 years as Clinical and Executive Director of a LGBT/HIV holistic health center. As a result of her tireless advocacy on behalf of Bostonian’s with HIV/AIDS, Mayor Menino proclaimed October 21, 2009 “Kristen Porter Day” in the City of Boston.

Dr. Porter is a gerontologist, LGB/Trans*/HIV aging researcher, death midwife, and integrative medicine consultant and practitioner whose work is recognized nationally and internationally. As a social entrepreneur she has founded several companies in various fields with community-spirited missions and is a dedicated mentor.

In 2009, Kristen assembled a solid strategic volunteer team to oversee the philanthropic work of Dyke Night and continue her vision to create high quality inclusive events that support our community artistically, socially and philanthropically.
