JP Outdoor Block Party
1 pm- 8 pm (Free Admission 1 pm- 2 pm)
All Ages, 21+ to drink
Kristen Porter Presents (Dyke Night® & The List: Boston’s Queer Agenda) and Boston Pride host the JP Block party.
What can you expect? Over 2,000 LGBT women, trans and non-binary folk, drag queens and kings, rescue dogs, and friends of all ages take over Perkins Street for a fun filled outdoor afternoon.
*NEW* this year:
FREE admission 1-2 pm during which we will have special activities for kids big and small.
FOOD vendor with lots of options so come for lunch and stay for dinner! Our new layout also provides seating for eating.
STAGE a larger stage to better accommodate the show… and what a show we have for you!
The beloved 5th Annual Divas, Dogs & Drag Show from 3 – 4 pm features available-for-adoption rescue dogs (thanks to PAWS New England) showcased by celebrity drag queens and kings. We welcome back emcee and performer Sapphira Cristal, Miss Gay NY and former queen of Boston Pride.
What’s extra special about the show this year? At last year’s event we stopped the party for a moment of silence for the victims and survivors of the Pulse Orlando tragedy. This year, two of those survivors are spending the one-year anniversary with us to perform in the show.
4 pm-8pm: DJ LeahV
After the show, the street morphs into one giant dance floor with DJ LeahV aka ‘The People’s DJ’. Her signature open format mixing and seamless genre-blending sets have won her the Boston Music Awards “DJ Artist of the Year,” Improper Bostonian’s “Boston’s Best DJ” and a feature at the Dinah Shore Weekend.
