JP Outdoor Block Party
2 pm- 8 pm
Kristen Porter Presents (Dyke Night® & The List: Boston’s Queer Agenda) and Boston Pride bring you the 2018 JP Block party. What can you expect? Over 2,000 LGBTQ folk and friends of all ages take over Perkins Street for a fun filled outdoor party with several cash bars (21+ to drink), food, drag, dogs and dancing!
Our first hour (2 pm- 3 pm) will feature solid gold throwbacks courtesy of DJ Maryalice. Fun for kids big and small at the Kidz Corner with games, face painting, and dress up selfie booth!
3 pm Special performance from ZOLA, a 15-year old singer-songwriter from Cambridge who recently released an EP of original music titled “In Plain Sight.” Last month Zola sold out her first solo concert at The Burren in Somerville, MA and came in 2nd place at The Young Performers Showcase at the Hard Rock Cafe, where she also won an award for Best Original Song. (She will be selling and signing CDS after her performance)
Kristen Porter’s beloved 7th Annual Divas, Dogs & Drag Show (3 pm) features available-for-adoption rescue dogs from PAWS New England showcased by drag performances. We welcome back emcee and performer Sapphira Cristal, Miss Gay NY of USofA and former Queen of Boston Pride. Join our Facebook event page as we will be posting photos/bios of the 6 drag performers in the show and the available-for-adoption rescue dogs who will be showcased.
After the show, the street morphs into one giant dance floor with DJ L’Duke (LeahV) until 8 pm. Her signature open format mixing and seamless genre-blending sets have won her the Boston Music Awards “DJ Artist of the Year” and Improper Bostonian’s “Boston’s Best DJ.”
And get ready to be wowed by a special live performance by New Fame (6 pm)- a female hip-hop/soul duo based in Vietnam touring worldwide.
