LOOKING FOR FOREVER HOMES

LOOKING - Drambuie
DottieDrambuie is currently living in a kennel, so we are seeking either a FOSTER home (PAWS pays all costs for food and care) or forever home. He is a handsome young adult pitbull that was surrendered by his owner when she could no longer afford to care for him. He is a sweet boy with lots of energy. He would love to play outside with you, but is also pretty content cuddling on the couch. Drambuie has always been good with people and recently has learned that he loves dog friends too. His new favorite activities include swimming and playing at the dog park.

Buie does better with small groups of dogs, 1-2 at a time, as he is still getting used to making new dog friends. Drambuie is good with kids of all ages and knows how to be gentle with the little ones. He would really love to have a kid or two of his own to play and snuggle with. Especially, if they indulge his love of showing off his toys to anyone who will pay attention. He is crate trained and rarely has accidents while crated, this bodes well for his house training but we can't confirm that he is house trained as he is currently living at a kennel. Drambuie has been neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm/lyme negative at present.

ADOPTED - Dottie

DottieDottie has arrived and is having a blast - she's fostering at Pet Companions Bed & Biscuit in Reading MA - she arrived and took over the joint - Judy, the owner, said she is getting along great with the other dogs and instantly started playing.

This low rider girl is not going to last - never met a low rider that wasn't great. She's definitely got some Basset in her (look at those front legs/paws).

Dottie is a very sweet basset mix puppy who gets along with everyone. Being a typical puppy, she loves to run around and have fun, so she would do well with an active family and a fenced in yard where she can run off some energy. At about 40 pounds, she is a great size with short basset legs, and probably won't get much bigger.

Will you give this sweet girl the loving, caring forever home she deserves?

LOOKING - Starr
StarrStarr is a female 3 year old reddish/tan pit bull mix and she is 43 pounds. She was shot by police while trying to protect her 8 newborn puppies. PAWS was contacted and asked to help her and her babies. Despite what Starr has been through, she is so sweet and loving and trusting. She was an amazing mom to her 8 puppies and is great with other people and dogs. Now it's her turn to find an amazing forever home.

Starr loves bananas, cheese the sound of refrigerator opening, tennis balls and does not like cats. She knows sit, loves to please you, comes when called, takes food gently, walks well in leash, patient, and barks at driveway visitors. She's a loving and caring pup, that deserves the best life has to offer and did we mention? She's a great kisser.... She will run to you with all her strength and stop just short of running you over and kiss you like there's no tomorrow. She knows the word "no" and loves the game of chase and peek a boo around the yard . She's loves taking a nap in your lap and adores a cozy sweater to wear. She is heartworm negative, spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped.

Will you give this sweet girl the loving, caring forever home she deserves?

LOOKING - Trixie

TrixieHi, I'm Trixie! I am a fun-loving girl who wants to be your new best friend! I had a rough start in life when I was found down south, so I can sometimes startle easily so I need to be in a home without children and prefer to be an only pet.

I am sweet, loving and very well trained. I even passed the B.A. level of the C.L.A.S.S. program with honors which includes skills such as come, down, leash walking, leave it, touch, stay, and wait at the door. But what I really want is a loving home. Once I get used to you, I'm yours forever!

I am currently fostering with a trainer who would love to work with my new mom or dad so they can get them up to speed on all the fun stuff I can do and set me up for success.

Trixie is also crate trained, house trained, and LOVES to play ball! She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and microchipped. She is a very lovable and sweet 40 pound female terrier mix who is approx. 4 years of age She was an owner surrender in TN from a family who had her - she came home one day with 6 puppies on board....the puppies have all found their homes long ago and now it is Trixie's turn!

Will you give this sweet girl the loving, caring forever home she deserves?

LOOKING - Colby

ColbyColby is a funny little terrier mix with a big personality! He is an active dog and would love to accompany you on runs, hikes, or agility training. He has already begun agility and is loving it! He has some basic obedience training and is house trained, crate trained, and ready to be your new best friend. He enjoys cuddling in bed with his foster mom and dad, playing with his foster siblings, and can best be described as a joy to have! No cats or kids. He is approximately 2 years old and is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, heartworm negative and microchipped.

Will you give this sweet boy the loving, caring forever home he deserves?

LOOKING - Kingsley

KingsleyKingsley is an approximately 7 year old, 20 lb. male min pin mix. He is neutered, heartworm negative, and up to date on his shots. Kingsley is a puppy mill survivor, which makes him a special dog. He's quite a character and a joy!!! When Kingsley first arrived at his foster home, he could not be approached or patted. He has made great strides!!! He now wears a collar but has yet to walk on a leash. He can now be patted, but on his own terms. He is still a scared little dog, and may never be a "normal" dog. BUT... He gets along with the foster parents' two dogs. He is very curious and likes to be with the dogs right in the middle of things. He keeps his distance from new people. Kingsley knows his name and comes running from the back of the yard when called. He will also scratch at the door when he wants to come in and he usually barks when he wants to go out. He knows sit and "down". His "stay" is improving. He eats breakfast and supper from a kong in his crate. He does like to sit close to his foster parents and has taken to sleeping at the end of their bed. He really is a special dog and a joy. He needs a special and patient family.

Will you give this sweet boy the loving, caring forever home he deserves?

LOOKING - Liberty

LibertyMeet the incredible Liberty! Liberty (Libby for short) has been nothing short of a miracle. Libby was seized from a home in TN, clinging to life, with her babies in tow and brought to the local animal shelter. Thankfully, one of our volunteers quickly saved this little family and they are on to their new lives! Liberty is approximately 4 years old and is sweet as pie. She has a gorgeous heart on her face which is indicative of her personality. She wants nothing more than to be held and loved on. She has been such a wonderful mom, and now it's her turn to find a home. Libby has a low energy level and is content to go for a walk or sunbathe on the porch. Libby would likely do best as an only dog, but is continually being socialized with dogs in her foster home and might do well with another mellow dog as well. Libby is working on her house training, is crate trained, weighs approx. 45lbs and is spayed.

Will you give this sweet girl the loving, caring forever home she deserves?

STILL LOOKING - Elton
EltonElton is an adorable approx. 9 year old chi boy who has a typical little boy chi personality - really doesn't love children and cats; can stand dogs if he has too but would prefer to not have too if he has his way.
The underbite is truly his best feature and in person it's hilarious to see - he's all of 8 lbs and long-legged with a very cute tail. He obviously thinks he's part cat however as he loves the backs of chairs.
This is a PERFECT dog for anyone looking for a pal. He's not hardy so he won't go hiking in winter but in nice weather he can keep up with the best of them; he is content to watch TV and when he wants to snuggle he will literally almost wrap himself around your neck.
Chaos is not this dog's friend - he does not do well in it so please, if you have a busy household, check out one of our other wonderful dogs - this guy wants peace and quiet. LOVES LOVES LOVES riding in the car. He is crate trained and doesn't mind his crate at all. He's up to date on his vaccinations and he's neutered.

Casey and Michelle
Casey & Michelle saw each other at a war protest and then came to Dyke Night at Midway Cafe in hopes of running into eachother. That was 2003.

Married in 2004- Dyke Night founder Kristen officiated the ceremony. Had daughter Riley in 2009.

Amie and Diana
Amie and Diana met at Toast in December 2005 at our holiday party and celebrated their 5th wedding anniversary in July. They have a beautiful baby son Aidan.

They are always a big hit at the annual Halloween bash for their creative award winning costumes.
