CHICKS ROCK! EVENT

SPARKLE  www.sparklerocks.com

Sparkle is a Boston-based alt rock band combining punk, pop, rock and other influences to create original music that rocks!  Our songs combine hard-driving drums with fierce guitars and a melodic bass groove.  Influences include Hole, the Clash, the Police, Liz Phair, Foo Fighters, and electronica.  Sparkle’s members have also played with Lizzie Borden & the Axes, the Finch Family, the Goods, the Hausfraus, and the Boston punk band To Hell You Ride. Sparkle is: Rachel Goldsmith (guitar, vocals), Andre Gressieux (drums), Nimish Parikh (guitar, vocals) and most pleased to welcome Ms. Kelly Johnson (bass goddess).

"Arielle's music and energy stopped me in my tracks... I had to sit, listen, and sign her mailing list. I'm a fan!" -- Catie Curtis
"Arielle's voice is the perfect vehicle for the powerful  words...comparing favorably to Tori Amos... deeper, edgier, breathier" -- Rambles Magazine

ARIELLE SILVER is a Southerner by birth, a Yankee by socialization, a classical musician by training, and a
songwriter of passionate compulsion. Her powerful voice and intensity in live performance is the raw energy of Kristen Hersh, PJ Harvey and Jeff Buckley. Her lyrics are poetic, sexy and insightful; her catchy melodies are haunting and beautiful.
Since her beginnings on the sidewalks of Harvard Square in 1996, Arielle has performed throughout New England down the coast to North Carolina. She has played shows with Pamela Means, Jennifer Kimball, Kris Delmhorst, Jess Klein, Liz Stahler and more. Currently she's rocking out with rhythm master Scott Manley and low-end mistress Mariana Iranzi.

"Virginia...sure stole the show with her frontwoman wiles. Still it was kind of hard
to check out the set, as the Midway was so packed that I had to watch the band through the room's bar mirror. But who's complaining. You can't ask for a better welcome than a packed house hollering for more."
